On Mercado Livre, the algorithm is the store manager: it decides who shows up first. Selling more means understanding what it rewards — without sacrificing margin for it.
What defines ranking
- Reputation — the color of the thermometer. Complaints, delays and cancellations drag down everything that follows. It's factor number one.
- Conversion — how many of those who enter buy. Photos, title, price and free shipping weigh here.
- Full — stock in Mercado Livre's fulfillment center ships faster and gets featured. Not mandatory, but the algorithm prefers it.
- Complete technical sheet — every empty field is a filter you don't appear in.
- Sales history — a listing that already sells keeps selling. That's why you don't delete old listings; you fix them.
The listing that converts
- Title: product + brand + model + main feature, in the order people search. No "sale", no "unmissable".
- Photos: white background first, product in use next, detail, packaging. Minimum 6.
- Variations in the same listing (color, size), not separate listings competing with each other.
- Price with shipping: the buyer compares the total.
Product Ads
Buys ranking while organic hasn't arrived. Works when the listing already converts; on a weak listing it just burns money. Target: ad cost per sale below contribution margin.
Weekly management routine
Reputation and questions (daily). Listings without sales in the last 30 days: fix or pause. Competitor prices on the top 10. Ads: pause what spends without selling, increase what sells with margin. Revenue closing and monthly dashboard.
What not to do
Cut price to gain ranking without calculating margin. Create a new listing for the same product. Ignore a question for more than a day. Depend on a single product for 80% of revenue.
